2012 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Camille Hammond, CEO of the Cade Foundation

Dr. Camille HammondCamille T.C. Hammond, M.D., MPH, received her B.A. in Leadership Studies, Omicron Delta Kappa, with minors in Women’s Studies and Latin (Cum Laude) from the University of Richmond (1997). Dr. Hammond obtained her M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (2001). She then received her Masters of Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University (2003).

Following a residency in General Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a post doctorate fellowship in Cancer Prevention at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Hammond took an academic post at the University of Maryland School of Medicine serving as the Program Director of Cancer Survivorship Disparities. In 2007, she left academia to run the Tinina Q Cade Foundation (Cade Foundation), a non-profit organization that she and her husband, Dr. Jason Hammond, founded in 2005 to provide support to families with infertility.

The Cade Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization that was started to provide information support and financial assistance to help needy infertile families OVERCOME infertility. The foundation was named after founders’ (Drs. Jason and Camille Hammond) mother, Dr. Tinina Cade. Dr. Cade carried and delivered the couples triplets following 5 years of infertility for the Hammonds. She delivered her grand-triplets at 55 years old, making her the oldest woman to deliver triplets at that point. The Hammonds started the Cade Foundation to provide a vehicle through which families who had already “overcome” infertility could support families who were still on the infertility journey. Another important focus of the Foundation was to provide financial support that would assist needy infertile families with costs of domestic adoption and fertility treatment. To date, the Cade Foundation has hosted hundreds of outreach events throughout the US and provided 31 families with financial support for adoption and fertility treatment nationwide. There are currently 21 Cade Foundation babies.

Camille currently serves as the CEO of the Cade Foundation and considers herself a physician-researcher, author, and educator. As a physician, her focus is infertility, researching the ways to improve fertility outcomes, particularly for socioeconomically and geographically disadvantaged demographic groups. Dr. Hammond has traveled throughout the US extensively lecturing and hosting education focused programming in 14 states about infertility and family building. She is author of several articles in the scientific literature on fertility related outcomes in socio-demographically disadvantaged groups and cancer survivors. She is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Society of Preventive Medicine and the National Medical Association.

Dr. Hammond and her husband Jason, live in Baltimore, Maryland and are the proud parents of 7-year-old triplets: Aaron, Kai and Simone.
