Overview

RESOLVE New England (RNE) – a nonprofit organization providing support, education, and advocacy to people experiencing infertility – seeks a dynamic, visionary, and extremely well-organized Executive Director to lead and advance the strategic vision of the organization. The ideal candidate will work collectively with the staff, the Board of Directors, and volunteers to grow the services of the organization as it reaches out to serve the New England region. The position requires a candidate that can successfully manage existing service models and new ways to reach those experiencing infertility – with the goal of creatively advancing our core competency of compassionate, in-person support and education.

The Executive Director oversees program development, marketing and implementation, ensures and identifies opportunities for financial stability, and leads corporate/member fundraising, outreach, and advocacy efforts. The Executive Director acts as the organization’s primary spokesperson and coordinates external relations, with a focus on the professional communities related to infertility.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and supervises several part-time employees. This position will require a commitment of 30-40 hours per week and offers flexibility in work schedule. Salary: $50K-$70K.

Responsibilities

Board Relations:

  • Work with the Board to develop and execute the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Develop strong board participation in the organization’s mission.
  • Serve as the interface between Board and staff.
  • Advise and inform Board on operations and administration.

Fundraising:

  • Envision and implement fundraising strategies for corporate sponsors and individual donors in both traditional and electronic/social media forums.
  • Identify resource requirements to implement organization’s vision.
  • Ensure accurate fundraising records and documentation.

Event and Marketing Management:

  • With staff, direct and manage annual conference, the organization’s signature yearly event, with special focus on securing corporate and organizational funders, exhibitors, and sponsors.
  • Oversee staff and volunteers who create, market and implement the education seminars and programs.

Community and Public Relations and Marketing:

  • Assure the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a positive fashion to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Set communications strategy and oversee implementation. This includes management of the innovative use of social media, the website, and other marketing opportunities with our existing members and new partners.
  • Oversee publication and dissemination of all RNE materials including weekly email newsletter, tri-annual print newsletters, annual resource guide, conference brochure, and collateral materials.

Human Resource Management:

  • Provide management and guidance for the organization’s staff
  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating performance for all employees

Advocacy:

  • In collaboration with the Board’s Advocacy Committee, set and execute public policy campaigns and initiatives to further the organization’s mission. This includes planning and participation in events and meetings on Beacon Hill and in other New England states and coordination with advocacy efforts by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association

Financial Management:

  • Recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization’s resources within those budget guidelines.
  • Oversee financial statements and all necessary government filings.
  • Identify new opportunities to achieve and sustain financial stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree a plus.
  • Prior organizational leadership and supervisory experience (in a nonprofit environment preferred).
  • Strong project management experience, with demonstrated ability to multi-task, overseeing major projects and serve multiple constituent needs simultaneously.
  • Fundraising experience with annual campaigns, special events, and solicitation of corporate sponsorship.
  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with outstanding interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience in public relations, advertising, or marketing an asset.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; experience using all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • A passion for the mission of the organization required; personal direct or indirect experience with field of infertility preferred
