Program Overview
This one-day program is for those who are considering donor egg, sperm or surrogacy as a family building option. The program will provide you with “how-tos” and cover the medical, ethical, emotional, legal, and parenting issues of this family building choice. Meet others who are considering this choice and also speak with those who are currently parenting children through donor egg and surrogacy.

Session 1: Preparing the Way for Egg/Sperm Donation and/or Surrogacy |
A reproductive endocrinologist will provide a medical overview of the egg/sperm donor and surrogacy/gestational carrier processes, along with information about screening and coordination with the recipient. Session 3: Psychosocial Issues in Adoption, Donor Conception and Surrogacy |
Led by two mental health professionals — one specializing in adoption and the other in infertility and third-party family-building — this session will focus on the emotional challenges of adoption and third-party reproduction. Ethical issues, secrecy vs. privacy, and how/when to talk with your child(ren) and others about the family story.
